An excessively enlarged mask, like a primitive figure with indefinite and bloated matter, welcomes us, spitting, projecting through its orifices a monstrous light.
A hypnotic scene is played out on the back of this totem pole, where shapes interplay with each other: a Rubik’s Cube from popular culture, which can be linked to modernism and the pictorial experiments of abstraction, encounters a Sonia Delaunay’s motif that strangely reminds us of the outline of a face.
An atmosphere of the world ending, of a carnivalesque fire emerges from this underground space where Les Yeux de l’Enfer (2007-2015) watch us, waiting only for the extatic dance of a voodoo ceremony.
